You can never have too many stripes..

Ok that’s a lie.. Hello my name is Rosaria and I am a stripeoholic (the above photo only contains about half of my collection). I’m not sure what it is about a striped clothing item that lures me in every time – It’s probably something to do with the clean lines and wearability, or maybe I wish I was an old-school sailor. But one thing is clear – I am stripe obsessed, I have an addiction and I am going to have to try and exercise some self-control (lets be honest, that’s not going to happen).

Song of Style is a fashion and lifestyle blog by interior designer Aimee Song – I like to think of Aimee as the master of taking seemingly simple garments and creating an outfit that is utterly chic and stunning – every time! (and don’t even get me started on her apartment! Words can not even describe! Check it out for yourself here). Song of Style is actually one of the first blogs I started to follow and Aimee fast became my style icon – she also had a hefty influence on the decision to start blogging myself!

I love to browse through the perfectly executed photographs, admiring Aimee’s wardrobe and gaining outfit inspiration – and despite having a full-time interior design job AND an incredibly popular blog, Aimee has always answered any questions I have had, whether it be blog advice or where I can find a garment she’s been snapped in at an event. So, clearly I’m a bit of a fan, but seriously –  I couldn’t fault her if I tried!

pai and cleanser

Since my last skincare post I have integrated some newbies into my routine and – shock horror – I have fallen in love.. (yes again).

First up we have the amazing, the wonderful, the brilliant (ok you get the picture) Pai Camellia and Rose Hydrating Cleanser

pai cleanser

This cream cleanser is heaven for dry, sensitive skin. It is calming, removes makeup and smells great – plus the muslin face cloth that comes with it is excellent for gently exfoliating the skin. I have been using this as my morning cleanser and it somehow manages to give my still half asleep skin a radiant “I’m ready to take on the day” glow.

Now, the instructions say to massage 2-3 pumps into your skin, but I find that 1 pump gives the perfect amount for that satisfying facial massage we all desire (and without excess product flying all over the place). After splashing a bit of water on my face and dispensing 1 pump of cleanser onto my hands I massage it all over my face, eyes and neck. Next, I dampen a muslin cloth or flannel with warm water and remove it using gentle circular motions – admiring my happy skin as I go.

So, if it wasn’t clear already, I will definitely be repurchasing this baby once it runs out!

The next honourable mention is like a mini facial in a tube, has marvellous reviews for miles and LOVES to hydrate – can you guess what it is!? That’s right, it’s Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask

originsThe name says it all – it is another MUST have for dry, dehydrated skin. I actually discovered this beaut through a sample that a lovely sales assistant at Mecca Cosmetica gave me after listening to me complain about my dry skin, and I just had to go back and purchase the full size. I had never tried an overnight mask before – but how could I not have!? I can’t believe I have been missing out on this simple, yet obviously crucial luxury all these years!  I just adore the idea of going to sleep with a magical layer of goodness on my face and waking up to soft, hydrated, glowing skin. However, I am glad this overnight mask was my first as it has clearly made a good impression and set the bar fairly high for others that may find their way into my forever seeking mitts.

For starters, this stuff smells AMAZING – like apricots – fresh, succulent apricots. Yuummmy, even writing about it makes me want to go and smell it! This replaces my night cream approximately twice a week – I apply it after cleansing with my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and Spritzing my skin with some La Roche Posay Serozinc. It goes on clear and I like to apply quite a generous amount (and often two layers) and massage it into my skin – you can literally see your skin drinking it up! (hence the name).

So what are you waiting for!? Go and give it a try.. your skin will truly love you for it!
